found it! you can create a custom theme override by copying the /usr/share/themes/<your theme>/ folder into ~/themes/, and editing it there. there is a nice cinnamon.css file which has all the theming. pretty easy! now i can have many favorite items fit snugly. :blessed:

oh i had noticed there was no middle mouse click scrolling--looks like waterfox (and probably most firefox forks?) has that just as a checkbox option to enable ("use autoscrolling") i will keep an eye out for a good f.lux replacement
