I actually wrote a small program for identifying this object. I didn't feel like compiling it, but it's a Python script you can easily run from source, provided you have the 2.6.0 release (October 2008) (they really ruined it with 3.0 so I won't work with anything newer). his heart's in the right place but I would recommend against running any untested code Postage sends you unless you want the hamsters in your machine to catch fire........ happened to a buddy of mine and we're still struggling to recompile his kernel.
